We were promised less bureaucracy in the NHS as part of Lansley’s ‘reforms’. Well we certainly knew that coordination would be fragmented. Less bureaucracy? Think about your own experience of the NHS recently. I certainly haven’t noticed a reduction in bureaucracy, quite the opposite. But I can’t really blame the doctors, nurses, midwives when I’ve just seen the new structure of the NHS:
I can’t make much sense of it. Can you? What is noticeable is that there are 2 organisation types being removed and 10 being created. A somewhat Orwellian definition of ‘less bureaucracy’ then.
